Effective Date: 20 January 2015

At Preceptiv, privacy is very important to us. That’s why we advise all of our clients to be as transparent as possible, and we hold ourselves to the same standard. We understand that analytics tools can be confusing, both for app creators and users. Preceptiv helps app creators better understand their users, but this doesn't come at the expense of user privacy.

Preceptiv will only collect personal information from your customers, such as name and email address, if you allow us to. We can also track the actions your customers take in your mobile app in order to improve the service. We will never share this information with anyone for any reason unless required by law.

Furthermore, we understand that analytics data sent to Preceptiv from your app is confidential. We will never share this information with anyone for any reason unless required by law. We reserve the right to analyze this data from an aggregated standpoint, and publish aggregated studies and figures (e.g. the total number of users tracked across all apps that use Preceptiv). In doing so we will never compromise the confidentiality of your data by publishing any identifying information.

Preceptiv uses the music you have stored on your mobile device or in the cloud for our analysis. Don’t worry, we only use the genre of each song we find, rather than the specific artist. So even though we might discover you’re the world’s biggest Justin Bieber fan, no one will know (not that there’s anything wrong with that). This method is used for both our personality test mobile app and the platform that app creators can access. The methodology used is a mix between the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI™) and the Big 5 personality traits (commonly referred to as OCEAN).

You won’t be personally identified in our database, as we use our own unique mobile identifier to determine between different people, not their personal information. And we only use this data so app creators can provide you a more relevant and personalised experience in their apps.
